چکیده

The study aimed to investigate the occurrence of carbapenem resistant E. coli and P. aeruginosa in apparently healthy, captive blackbucks leopards India. Faecal samples (n = 7) were processed isolate (CRE) (CRP). Forty (leopards n 26; blackbuck 14) two (blackbuck 2) isolated from faecal 14). Eleven isolates recovered, which 10 CRE one was CRP. minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) determined for meropenem between 8 64 μg/mL. All CRP phenotypically multidrug resistant, six extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) producers. On genotypic screening, seven positive blaNDM carbapenemase gene. Efflux pump-mediated resistance noticed four (36.4%, 4/11). Of ESBL producing CRE, carried blaCTX-M-1 genes. also harbored blaTEM-1, blaAmpC, qnrA, qnrB, qnrS, tetA, tetB sul1 Shiga toxin virulence Stx1, Stx2 genes detected isolates, respectively. Plasmid typing revealed that on an Incl1 plasmid. plasmid multilocus sequence (pMLST) showed Sequence Type (ST) 297. bacteria wildlife should be a major public health priority.

Carbapenem and Fluoroquinolone Resistance in Multidrug Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates from Al-Zahra Hospital, Isfahan, Iran

Introduction: The major resistance mechanisms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to fluoroquinolones and carbapenems are associated with the mutations in the genes gyrA and oprD encoding type II topoisomerases (DNA gyrase) and OprD porin, respectively. Method: In this cross-sectional study, sixty five clinical samples were collected from patients hospitalized in Al-Zahra Hospital of Isfahan, Iran. Susce...

Diversity and evolutionary patterns of immune genes in free-ranging Namibian leopards (Panthera pardus pardus).

The genes of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) are a key component of the mammalian immune system and have become important molecular markers for fitness-related genetic variation in wildlife populations. Currently, no information about the MHC sequence variation and constitution in African leopards exists. In this study, we isolated and characterized genetic variation at the adaptivel...

The current distribution and status of leopards Panthera pardus in China

The leopard Panthera pardus, categorized globally as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List, has the widest distribution of any wild felid species, although in Asia it has declined dramatically and five subspecies are Endangered or Critically Endangered. In China at least three subspecies have been reported to occur throughout much of the country, and in  the population was estimated to be ,...

Detection of TEM Gene in Clinical Isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli in Isfahan province (from 2018)

Background: The isolation of the TEM gene in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli and the antibiotic resistance pattern provides useful information on the epidemiology and factors involved in these infections. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate antibiotic resistance and abundance of a beta-lactamase gene (TEM) in P.aeruginosa and E.coli isolated from clinical specimens by the po...

Construction of New Genetic Tools as Alternatives for Protein Overexpression in Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Background: Pseudomonas protein expression in E. coli is known to be a setback due to signifi cant genetic variation and absence of several genetic elements in E. coli for regulation and activation of Pseudomonas proteins. Modifi cations in promoter/repressor system and shuttle plasmid maintenance have made the expression of stable and active Pseudomonas protein possible in bot...
